technology learning

West Palm Beach Jr. Academy is committed to providing our students with a technology-rich program that enhances classroom teaching, extends the learning experience beyond our school walls, and allows students to develop the skills they need for the future.

Pre-K – 2nd grade students have access to tablets, classroom laptops, and desktop computers. Grades 3-8 utilize school laptops in their 1 to 1 technology program.

Students in all grades achieve and develop grade level technological proficiency skills through technology integrated activities across the curriculum. Students display their technology skills in various student-led technology projects integrated into normal coursework.

Our use of digital resources in class actively involves students in the learning process. Students can participate in online discussions with students in our sister schools, listen to presentations from specialists in every field, and attend virtual fieldtrips. Students access videos, audio clips, online library resources, collaborative tools, Office programs, and e-curriculum at school or home.

To prepare students to be responsible digital citizens, students receive instruction regarding online safety, responsible resource use, the ethical implications of their actions, and application of biblical principles regarding technology.

Students may choose to further develop STEM learning by joining our afterschool robotics program or FIRST LEGO League offering fun challenges and competitions.
