Knowing God
Our hope and earnest prayer for each family and every student at West Palm Beach Jr. Academy is that they will come to know God and have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ His Son. Teachers guide students in getting to know and developing a real friendship with God in the same way they get to know any other person. Students are encouraged and given opportunities to spend time with God, listen to Him, talk to Him in prayer, spend time with those who know Him, and introduce Him to others.
We get to know God best by reading His Word the Bible in which specific things about God’s character and purpose are revealed. We can also learn much about God’s handiwork through Science by observing His amazing creation. Best of all, through studying the history of Jesus’ time on Earth we learn God’s devotion to us, and His plans for our future.
We place our mission for students to know God by empowering them for eternity in all classes whether Science, History, Math, Language Arts, or other classes. In each class students focus on one part of God’s character while progressing in strong academic logical thinking, writing, reading, and mathematical skills. In Science, we use the By Design curriculum from Kendall Hunt Publishing, that focuses on scientific data and thinking from an Intelligent Design model of God as a Creator God. In Bible we use the Encounter Curriculum that uses the Bible as our primary textbook in teaching students to encounter a relationship with God for themselves, while looking at Christianity and the Bible holistically.
